The Children of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

Allah Almighty honored His beloved Prophet ﷺ with glory in this world and the Hereafter. Children are one of Allah’s greatest blessings. The Prophet ﷺ also had children whom he loved dearly. The Prophet ﷺ had a total of 7 children-3 sons and 4 daughters.

The Sons of the Prophet ﷺ

Hazrat Qasim RA

The first son. His mother was Hazrat Khadijah RA. The Prophet ﷺ was also called Abul Qasim because of him. He passed away in childhood.

Hazrat Abdullah RA

His titles were Tayyib and Tahir. He was also born after the declaration of Prophethood. He passed away at a young age in Makkah.

Hazrat Ibrahim RA

He was the son of Hazrat Mariah Qibtiyah RA. He was born in Madinah. The Prophet ﷺ had great affection for him. He passed away at the age of 18 months. At his funeral, the Prophet ﷺ said: The eyes shed tears and the heart is grieved, but we will only say what pleases our Lord.

Sadly, all three sons did not live long. The passing of the Prophet's ﷺ sons occurred by the wisdom of Allah. The Prophet ﷺ is the Seal of the Prophets (Khatam an-Nabiyyin), and no prophet would come after him.

The Daughters of the Prophet ﷺ

Hazrat Zainab RA

The eldest daughter. She was first married to Hazrat Abul Aas bin Rabi in the days of ignorance. Later he accepted Islam.They had Ali, who died in childhood, and Umamah bint Abul Aas (RA). Some historical reports also mention another child named Amah.

She suffered injuries while migrating from Makkah to Madinah after being attacked. She later passed away in Madinah in 8 AH as a result of those injuries according to many historians.

Hazrat Ruqayyah RA

She was very modest and devout. She was first married to the son of Abu Lahab, but After the revelation of Surah Al-Masad, Abu Lahab instructed his son to divorce her because of his hostility toward Islam. Then she was married to Hazrat Uthman bin Affan RA. She was ill on the day of the Battle of Badr and passed away during that illness.

Hazrat Umm Kulthum RA

After Hazrat Ruqayyah’s death, she was also married toHazrat Uthman bin Affan RA Because of this, Hazrat Uthman is called "Dhul-Nurayn" meaning "The One with Two Lights". She also had no children.

Hazrat Fatimah Al-Zahra RA

She wasHazrat Fatimah al-Zahra (RA) was among the most beloved members of the Prophet's ﷺ family and was honored with the title Sayyidatun Nisa Ahl al-Jannah -Leader of the Women of Paradise.

In 2 AH she was married toHazrat Ali bin Abi Talib RA.

They had 4 children:

• Imam Hasan RA
• Imam Hussain RA The Leader of the Youth of Paradise
• Hazrat Zainab RA
• Hazrat Umm Kulthum RA

She passed away 6 months after the demise of the Prophet ﷺ.

Important Lessons

1. Continuation of Lineage: All the sons of the Prophet ﷺ passed away in childhood. According to the traditional understanding, the descendants (Sayyids) of the Prophet ﷺ trace their lineage through Hazrat Fatimah (RA) and Hazrat Ali (RA), particularly through Imam Hasan (RA) and Imam Husayn (RA).

2. An Example of Patience: Despite the grief of losing children, the Prophet ﷺ always thanked Allah and taught us patience.

3. Purity of Relationships: The daughters of the Prophet were married to the great companions. This is a model for us.

حضور اکرم ﷺ کی اولاد: سیرت، قربانیاں اور نسب

اللہ تعالیٰ نے اپنے محبوب نبی حضرت محمد ﷺ کو دنیا و آخرت کی عظیم عزتوں سے نوازا۔ اولاد اللہ تعالیٰ کی بہت بڑی نعمت ہے، اور نبی کریم ﷺ کو بھی ایسی اولاد عطا ہوئی جن سے آپ ﷺ بے حد محبت فرمایا کرتے تھے۔ حضور اکرم ﷺ کی کل سات اولادیں تھیں: تین صاحبزادے اور چار صاحبزادیاں۔

حضور ﷺ کے صاحبزادے
حضرت قاسم رضی اللہ عنہ
آپ ﷺ کے سب سے پہلے صاحبزادے تھے۔ ان کی والدہ حضرت خدیجہ رضی اللہ عنہا تھیں۔ انہی کی نسبت سے نبی کریم ﷺ کی کنیت ابوالقاسم مشہور ہوئی۔ آپ بچپن ہی میں وفات پا گئے۔

حضرت عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہ
آپ کے القابات طیب اور طاہر بیان کیے جاتے ہیں۔ آپ نبوت کے اعلان کے بعد پیدا ہوئے اور کم عمری میں مکہ مکرمہ ہی میں وفات پا گئے۔

حضرت ابراہیم رضی اللہ عنہ
آپ حضرت ماریہ قبطیہ رضی اللہ عنہا کے صاحبزادے تھے۔ آپ کی پیدائش مدینہ منورہ میں ہوئی۔ نبی کریم ﷺ کو ان سے بہت محبت تھی۔ آپ اٹھارہ ماہ کی عمر میں وفات پا گئے۔ اس موقع پر رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا:
آنکھیں آنسو بہاتی ہیں اور دل غمگین ہوتا ہے، لیکن ہم وہی بات کہتے ہیں جو ہمارے رب کو پسند ہو۔
تینوں صاحبزادے بچپن ہی میں وفات پا گئے۔ یہ اللہ تعالیٰ کی حکمت تھی، اور نبی کریم ﷺ خاتم النبیین ہیں، آپ کے بعد کوئی نبی آنے والا نہیں۔

حضور ﷺ کی صاحبزادیاں
حضرت زینب رضی اللہ عنہا
آپ حضور ﷺ کی سب سے بڑی صاحبزادی تھیں۔ آپ کا نکاح حضرت ابوالعاص بن ربیع رضی اللہ عنہ سے ہوا۔ بعد میں وہ اسلام لے آئے۔ ان کے ہاں حضرت علی (جو بچپن میں وفات پا گئے) اور حضرت امامہ رضی اللہ عنہا پیدا ہوئیں۔ ہجرت کے دوران پیش آنے والی تکلیفوں کے اثرات کی وجہ سے آپ نے مدینہ منورہ میں وفات پائی۔
حضرت رقیہ رضی اللہ عنہا
آپ نہایت باحیا اور عبادت گزار تھیں۔ ابتدا میں آپ کا نکاح ابولہب کے بیٹے سے ہوا تھا، لیکن اسلام دشمنی کی وجہ سے یہ رشتہ ختم ہوگیا۔ بعد ازاں آپ کا نکاح حضرت عثمان بن عفان رضی اللہ عنہ سے ہوا۔ غزوۂ بدر کے موقع پر آپ بیمار تھیں اور اسی بیماری میں وفات پا گئیں۔
حضرت ام کلثوم رضی اللہ عنہا
حضرت رقیہ رضی اللہ عنہا کی وفات کے بعد آپ کا نکاح بھی حضرت عثمان بن عفان رضی اللہ عنہ سے ہوا۔ اسی وجہ سے حضرت عثمان رضی اللہ عنہ کو ذوالنورین یعنی دو نوروں والے کہا جاتا ہے۔ آپ کی کوئی اولاد نہیں ہوئی۔
حضرت فاطمہ الزہراء رضی اللہ عنہا
آپ نبی کریم ﷺ کی نہایت محبوب اور معزز صاحبزادی تھیں۔ آپ کا لقب سیدہ نساء اہل الجنة یعنی جنتی عورتوں کی سردار ہے۔ 2 ہجری میں آپ کا نکاح حضرت علی بن ابی طالب رضی اللہ عنہ سے ہوا۔
ان کے چار بچے تھے:

• امام حسن رضی اللہ عنہ
• امام حسین رضی اللہ عنہ — جنت کے نوجوانوں کے سردار
• حضرت زینب رضی اللہ عنہا
• حضرت ام کلثوم رضی اللہ عنہا

حضرت فاطمہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے نبی کریم ﷺ کے وصال کے تقریباً چھ ماہ بعد وفات پائی۔

اہم اسباق
1. نسل کا تسلسل
نبی کریم ﷺ کے تمام صاحبزادے بچپن میں وفات پا گئے۔ ساداتِ کرام کا سلسلہ حضرت فاطمہ رضی اللہ عنہا اور حضرت علی رضی اللہ عنہ کے ذریعے، خصوصاً امام حسن رضی اللہ عنہ اور امام حسین رضی اللہ عنہ کی نسل سے چلتا ہے۔
2. صبر کی عظیم مثال
اولاد کے غم کے باوجود نبی کریم ﷺ نے ہمیشہ اللہ تعالیٰ کی رضا پر صبر فرمایا اور امت کو بھی صبر اور شکر کی تعلیم دی۔
3. پاکیزہ خاندانی تعلقات
حضور اکرم ﷺ کی صاحبزادیوں کے نکاح جلیل القدر صحابۂ کرام رضی اللہ عنہم سے ہوئے، جو پاکیزہ رشتوں اور اعلیٰ کردار کا بہترین نمونہ ہیں۔
اللہ تعالیٰ ہمیں اہلِ بیتِ اطہار رضی اللہ عنہم کی سچی محبت عطا فرمائے اور ان کے نقشِ قدم پر چلنے کی توفیق دے۔ آمین۔
